Failure, PURPOSE

Failure as a Fuel

Thomas Edison once said, “I failed my way to success.” These simple words mean so much to me that I decided to write today about failure and how it can be used as a fuel.

Often during difficult situations we find ourselves questioning God and why he allows his people to be tempted and tried. I have learned through time that it is my most difficult times that build my character the most. The trials and tribulations that I have encountered can be contributed to my greatest strengths. For instance as a teenage mother who was living with my mother I was often rebellious and angry because of many things that I encountered during my childhood. After my mother decided to kick me and my daughter out of her house I was forced to grow up. The anger became motivation and that motivation caused me to obtain a college degree, find stable housing and to become situated in my career. Without this moment of my mother pushing me out of her nest I don’t think I would be as far as I am now.

In our moment of despair and uncertainty we must always lean on Gods words. God said he did not give us a spirit of fear. We must not be afraid of what is ahead but instead remember that we have enough to endure whatever is placed ahead of us. God said that everything we encounter can be used for his greater glory. All of the things I was embarrassed about is what makes my testimony more interesting and easier for other people in my situation to relate to. God said in our weakness his strength is made perfect so even if we cant believe that we are strong enough just knowing that we have a mighty and merciful God in our corner is enough to get us through.

Failure is needed in order to succeed. I was told to reach for the stars and if I fail at least I would land on a cloud. Those words have stuck with me since my high school graduation and has caused me to push through some of my most difficult days. The greater the purpose that is placed on your life the greater will be the obstacles that you have to overcome to achieve. Whenever you are faced with something that seems bigger and greater than you please remember you have a legion of angels behind you and as long as you have faith you can do all things through Christ who strengthen you. Choose to use your failure as your fuel.

Prayer:

Dear God;

Thank you for blessing me with another day to live in your glory. Thank you for giving me the strength to overcome everything just to be here where you want me to be. God please protect me so that I can stand in the midst of all of the many traps the devil has set before me. God the devil came to steal, kill and destroy but with you I have victory and can not be slain.

God you are my strength and my redeemer. Please help me to keep your promises buried in my spirit so that I can remember what you said although my reality will show me differently. God please help me to see the silver lining in every cloud and to use all of my life experiences to glorify you Father. Have your way with me Lord. Use me to show others how graceful, loving and protecting you are. I love you God. Thank you for all you have done and for all you are doing. In Jesus name we pray.

Amen
